IFS Therapy & EFT Tapping for Deep Nervous System Healing

Healing from trauma, anxiety, and grief is possible—and you don’t have to do it alone. I offer specialized individual therapy for PTSD, anxiety disorders, and grief & loss, using proven, trauma-informed approaches that help your nervous system finally relax and begin to heal.

During my years at the VA Medical Center in Boston, I cared for veterans living with severe PTSD. That experience taught me the importance of offering the most effective treatments available. This is why I have extensive, advanced training in:

  • IFS (Internal Family Systems) Therapy

  • EMDR Therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing)

  • EFT Tapping (Emotional Freedom Techniques)

These approaches gently help the body release stored trauma, reduce anxiety, and create the internal safety needed for deep emotional healing.

What PTSD Symptoms Can Look Like

Have you lived through something that you still have bad memories about?
Something that still sticks with you, that you don’t want to think about but you can’t erase it from your mind?
If you've survived something scary or weird, trauma (big or small), abuse, grief, or loss, you might be feeling:

  • Upset inside when you remember what happened

  • Ashamed about what happened

  • You're to blame for what happened

  • No one will understand you

  • Uncomfortable being sexual because of your abuse history

  • Like a part of you can’t get past the past

Understanding Trauma and PTSD: A Normal Response to Overwhelming Events. But it feels awful.

Do you experience:

  • Fears and worries that you can’t shake?

  • Waking up feeling tense, not having slept well (again)?

  • Your chest feels tight or you breathe shallow or your throat feels constricted?

  • Feeling rushed and overwhelmed with tasks?

  • Feelings of dread sticking with you- like “when is the panic going to start?” or “if I go (to X place) will I have to leave because my anxiety is up?” or “How can I drive to/go to __x__ when I don’t know if I will become anxious on the way there and might get stuck or sick?”

Skilled trauma counseling can help.

The truth is, anxiety and trauma treatment are much more effective than medication. Many people with the symptom described above or with panic attacks are prescribed medications to alleviate anxiety. While pills might take the anxiety away briefly, it always returns. Pills are a quick but ineffective fix. Pills leave you feeling tired, hung-over, and out of it. And let me reiterate, pills don’t stop debilitating anxiety from recurring. They are a helpful band-aide, but not always.

You deserve care and treatment that can transform your past, heal what hurts, and release fears for good.

I've learned techniques to alleviate anxiety on the spot, without medication. It’s true- this IS possible. You'll learn these easy-to-use techniques that will help you feel more at ease in our very first session.

Even if you doubt that your feelings about the past (how your anxiety feels) can change, I invite you to call me. I've had many clients who didn’t think they could ever feel calm without taking Klonipin or Xanax, and who were very surprised to find they didn’t need them after coming in for anxiety treatment with me.
